No more imagining about thermal imaging

Welcome back again!

If you have been keeping up with the website and facebook page you will have already got to know some of the Paranormal Guides staff and a little bit about what they each do. Debbie and myself have been pretty busy creating videos about all things paranormal in Australia but Paul has recently been absent.

Well Paul is back in the saddle and has brought a new 'toy' with him.

At the Guide we each have a special area of interest/experience as well as being investigators; Debbie is a great researcher and interviewer, I am good at keeping things together and maintaining the website and Facebook page. As for Paul, well he is a bit of a tech head. Okay, 'bit' is a understatement. Paul is a major tech head so pretty much is our one and only tech guy.

This afternoon at our weekly meeting Paul (who we had not seen for a few weeks mind you) rocks up with a curious looking hard plastic case. When he put it down the logo that adorned its lid made me very excited. It sported four letters proudly visible; 'FLIR'.

Paul had purchased a FLIR i7 Thermal Imaging Camera.

This was a great bit of fun to have a go with while we chatted about upcoming projects etc. Now I will not bore you too much with details (thats the tech guys job) suffice to say it picks up heat rather than visible, UV or IR light and it does so with great precision. The heat shows up with different gradients of color depending on the temperature and with it's 0.1 degree difference detection it can bring up a very good image.

Place your hand on the wall and remove it, the FLIR will pick up the hand print for quite a while. Walk through a hallway and you will see your footprints. It's pretty cool.

Anyways there are a few photos in the photos section here:

Paul will be experimenting with the FLIR over the next few weeks in preperation for an upcoming equipment product review video coming soon.
